This is my last post from Germany as tomorrow I am off to Edinburgh, Scotland! To be honest with you I am ready to move on. I have had fun in the year and a half that I have been here. I have visited some beautiful areas of Germany, got to know some great Germans and learned about their customs. My only regret is that I wish I had made more of an effort to learn the language; I think that it would have made my stay even more enjoyable and easier!
Yesterday I traveled for the last time in Germany and visited the beautiful town of Hamelin. This quaint town is the home of the Pied Piper and the area has a very medieval and gothic feel. Luckily I did not see the Pied Pipers rats, but what I did see were the beautiful buildings and the festive Christmas Market.
The Christmas Market was held in the old part of town, in Hamelin’s main square. The stunning church provided a great back drop to the festive scene. Of course I had to sample the food on offer at the various stalls. The hits were a minced meat style sandwich. What made it particularly tasty was the combination of meat and cheese mixed into one dumpling. Yummy! The misses was a dish of mushrooms mixed with onions and Creme Fraiche – a little to tasteless for me.
So, tommorow I am off to Edinburgh! I have never been to Edinburgh or even Scotland before so I am looking forward to this new experience!
So on my last day in Germany I am leaving you with some photographs of my visit to the town of Hamelin Germany.

Dear Germany,
I will miss your bike friendly cities, your Christmas Markets and your friendly people – but I am now ready to say Goodbye!
